“WHY IT WAS NOT DECLARED AS A DEAD BALL?”
After India’s win, This was the most discussed and debated topic amongst the cricket lovers and experts as well. A large fraction of Pakistani audience believed it was an unfair decision to them that cost them the match. On the other hand Indian audience believed that it was fair decision. CASE 1) If the batsman is BOWLED-OUT on a fair delivery:
In this scenario, once the bails are dismissed, no run could be scored on the same delivery as the outcome of bowl is already been drawn.
CASE 2) If the batsman is BOWLED-OUT on a FREE-HIT:
In this scenario, batsman could score the runs. he/she can’t be given out but, the catch is all runs scored would be counted as extra instead of going into batsman account.
Which eventually means that as per ICC rule, those 3 runs were legit and fair.
