After the second ODI and series win, Cricket expert thought that the majority of senior player such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would take rest. On the contrary, Rohit Sharma went for another white wash. India won the last match by 90 runs. With this astronomical win India became No. 1 in ODIs as well. India is already on the top spot in T20s.

India at the top spot in ODI and T20
With the two consecutive white-wash against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. India has now at the top spot in ODIs. Indian has 114 rating points in the ODI, England and Australia is at the No. 2 and No. 3 spot with 113 and 112 respectively.
In T20s, with 267 point India is at the top spot followed by England and Pakistan for No. 2 and No. 3 with 266 and 258 rating points.
Toss and Indian Opener | India became No. 1 in ODIs
After loosing 2 toss in a row, Tom Latham won this one and choose to field first. Indian opener repeat the performance. Rohit Sharma 101 (4X9, 6X6) breaks his ton loosing streak and made his 30th century after 3 years. Shubhman Gill 112 (4X13, 6X5) continued his run-spree and hit his 4th century. Shubhman Gill equals the Babar Azam’s record of scoring maximum runs i.e. 360 runs in 3 match series.
Both the openers hit the big shots from beginning on the batting track. They added 212 runs in just 26 overs. After the first dismissal, Virat Kohli joined the pitch, He added quick 36 runs (4X3, 6X1).
Middle Order | India became No. 1 in ODIs
Ishan Kishan and Surya Kumar Yadav got the opportunity but they again failed to score big. Ishan Kishan made 17 (4X1, 6X1) runs and Surya Kumar Yadav made 14 (6X2) runs. India reach to the 300 mark in just 40.3 overs. Hardik Pandya 54 (4X3, 6X3) and Shardul Thakur 25 (4X3, 6X1) added 54 in 34 balls and helped India to cross the 350 runs marks in 47th Over. India finally put a target of 386 runs on the board to chase.

New Zealand’s Inning | India became No. 1 in ODIs
Once again New Zealand opener’s failed to give a good start. Hardik Pandya dismissed the Finn Allen on the 2nd ball of inning. The best of NZ innings was Devon Conway 138 (100 balls, 4X12, 6X8), he took the innings forward with Henry Nicholls 42 (40 balls, 4X3, 6X2). They added 106 runs for 2nd wicket, Conway added another 78 runs with Daryl Mitchell 24 (4X2). In 25th Over, Shardul Thakur dismissed the Daryl Mitchell and Tom Latham on consecutive deliveries.
He dismissed the Glenn Philips in his next over. NZ lost 3 wickets in the span of just 16 runs. By the 32nd over NZ score was 230/6 runs. The tail was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadava (3/62) and Yuzvendra Chahal (2/43). India won the match by 90 runs and series by 3-0.
Man of the Match/Series Award | India became No. 1 in ODIs
Shardul Thakur who played at the place of Mohammad Shami for his all-round performance was awarded with Man of the Match. He made 25 runs in 17 balls and took 3 wickets at the expense of 45 runs. He also completed his 50 wickets in One-Days, he reach to this mark in 34 ODIs.

For the phenomenal performance in series Shubhaman Gill was awarded with Man of the Series award. He equal the Babar Azam’s record of scoring maximum run in 3 match series. he overall made 360 runs with 2 century and 208 as best score. Also, Mohammad Siraj also took 5 wickets in first 2 match. he was given rest in this match, Umran Malik took his place and dismissed the most crucial Devon Conway.
