Shoaib Akhtar on Babar Azam
In an interview with Private TV Network, He revealed his thoughts for skipper Babar Azam. The opening batsman is not considered as biggest brand in Pakistan as he cannot speak fluent english. He further added, “modern day Pakistani cricketer cannot speak on media, TV or in post match presentation”.
Shoaib Akhtar on Shaheen Shah Afridi
when asked about the new speed star Shaheen Shah Afridi who recently got married to former Pakistani Skipper Shaheed Afridi‘s daughter, he clearly disagreed with Shaheen’s decision of leaving field due to aching knee in a low scoring match. Shaheen bowled only 2.1 over and dismissed opener Alex hales in very first over.
While delivering his third over he felt knee pain and eventually left the field after the very first ball. His incomplete over later was bowled by Iftikhar Ahmad and gave 13 runs in 5 balls. Shoaib Akhtar aired his thought that “He should have bowled the two overs against England in the T20 World Cup final through pain to become Pakistan’s biggest superstar.” Though Cricketer turned commenter Alan Wilkins has slammed him for this remark

He also talked about another promising speed star but failed to live up to his talent Mohammad Amir. He said that he took the retirement thinking the new speed gun will fill his shoes and take hi place in the team he further added “A cricketer himself wastes his talent. Mohammad Amir has not handled his talent and career. He was not a child at 18 years of age. Mohammad Amir did not paid off Pakistan’s debt.”

Shoaib Akhtar on Wasim Akram and Sachin Tendulkar
He as a cricketer has high regards for former Pakistani captain and pacer Wasim Akram and Sachin Tendulkar. Cricket lovers remember the two most memorable encounter of the two. The first one was at Eden Gardens in 1999 where he dismissed Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar on consecutive yorkers
On being asked about the Wasim Akram Sachin Tendulkar he said “I am not even close to Sachin Tendulkar or Wasim Akram. I could not become the greatest player because I was not fit, but I always had the talent. I dismissed Sachin off the first bowl, but he is the greatest player ever,“
Shoaib Akhtar on Bollywood Debut
Though his most of the statements in the interview made some sense, his most unconvincing claim was on a “LEAD ROLE” offered in a Bollywood movie. He did mentioned his love for acting in few of his earlier media interaction but this time he divulge a bigger yet unimaginable claim. He claimed that he was offered lead role in Anurag Basu and Mahesh Bhatt’s movie GANGSTER which later was played by Imran Hashmi.
GANGSTER was a movie about a gangster’s (Shiny Ahuja) love story. It was very much admired by the Indian and Pakistani youth then. Besides the storyline and songs, it is also remembered for Kangana Ranaut for playing gangster’s love interest. She won the FILMFARE award for BEST FEMALE DEBUT for the role. Till now nobody from related from the film has denied his claim.
